Historic Buffalo Bill's Well
Located at the Historic Cow Creek Crossing where Buffalo Bill Mathewson was Postmaster of Beach Valley in 1864. Same location as the well, which served his ranch and aided wagon trains on the Santa Fe trail. There is a small park there, and picnic table with a nice view of the plains where hundreds of buffalo used to roam free. The picture with the boy is from about 1968 before the frame of the well was broken by someone.

Belived to be an early photo of the well on cow creek
with wagon train on the old Santa Fe trail!
